To celebrate road cycling in the North West, Rapha and PechaKucha Manchester teamed up on 7 September 2017 to host a very special mini-PechaKucha of six cycling themed talks, part of the global ‘Rapha Rides’ series.
We were asked to design, specify and print manage the Rapha x PechaKucha event programme, showcasing speaker profiles and running order, which resulted in a real keepsake following the event.

To strengthen the road cycling theme, we specified G.F Smith’s ‘Granular Embossed ColorPlan’ paper stock to imitate the texture of tarmac and ‘Candy Pink’ to connect with Rapha’s brand colour palette. In addition, the iridescent foil ‘SHLR’ enriched the celebratory experience.
The cover illustration captures the essence of road cycling in the north west – based around a central compass, combined with a bicycle cog and wheel.
The inside of the programme illustrates a speaker route map, guiding the audience through a line-up of six speakers, including a double world para-cyclist champion and a cyclist who circumnavigated the world 34,000km on a single speed bike.
From start to finish, the programme takes you on a journey, designed at the north west angle of -25 degrees.
